Ocean Economy was founded by Aileen Torres-Bennett, the former managing editor of Sea Technology magazine (1963-2025), where she covered the ocean industry for 13+ years. She has an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University and has written for AP and Reuters as a stringer around the world.
